Full body harnesses
The chest climbing harness is supposed to keep the climber upright in the event of a fall. Also possibly handy if you're lowering an injured climber. A chest harness can be readily improvisedwith a long loop of webbing (a long runner). One popular design depends on a carabiner to bring the ends of the harness together at your chest. Another uses a knot instead to attach the ends.
A full body climbing harness makes sense with smaller children as it gives an added degree of security and safety in fall situations.
